Claire Lathouras earned her credentials by being trained at one of the best Canine Instructor Schools in the United States ... Auger’s K-9 Kollege & Animal Training Institute based in New Jersey where she was trained by two of America’s top dog training instructors, Louise Auger and Norma Overlock.

Louise Auger was in high demand as an adviser to other Dog-Training Institutions, animal specialists and Police Dog Training organisations on advanced training methods. She was also an advisor to Scotland Yard, UK for her training skills in highly specialised, bomb detection training. 

     Claire studied practical and theory in training dogs and their owners over a period      of 3 years, full-time and graduated late in 2005.  In early 2006 she returned to      Australia to start and develop the Western Australia Dog Training Academy as owner      and Principal Instructor.  In her spare time she volunteered her teaching skills at K9      Rescue in Mandurah, W.A.

     Claire has been closely involved with dogs for over thirty years, the last seven as a      full time trainer and has trained in excess of one thousand dogs and their owners in      that time.

     Claire brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and easy-to-learn techniques.
     Her methods are effective, fun and guaranteed to work.  These methods are easily      adapted for all dog types and can be tailored to the owner’s preference in training      style.

     Claire’s favourite pastimes are being with her family; attending personal      development courses and reading books on dog training.  She also loves to go      exploring new places with Rex, her English Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

     Rex has been Claire's constant and faithful companion throughout the last seven      years, including those of her USA sabbatical and he has achieved the highest levels      of training that a Staffy can possibly attain.

     Due to a move to Melbourne for family commitments in 2009, Claire established the      Bayside Dog Training Academy in South Melbourne, Victoria.   She will continue      teaching dog owners her special skills through dedicated private lessons.
